A Beacon Hill Kitchen Reimagined with Color and Pattern to ‘Surprise & Delight’

Situated at the back ell of a traditional 1842 townhouse, this gut-renovation of an existing eat-in kitchen gave our clients a highly customized space brimming with character.  Through a collaborative design process, we pulled together a palette rich in color, pattern, and texture to enliven the space.

Constrained by the existing long and narrow footprint, we introduced a new archway that echoed the kitchen entry to establish a separate eating area.  A bold, glossy coffee bar is visible as you approach the kitchen, and a new oval window allows a peak of the cranberry light fixture from the adjacent lounge, adding charm and character through the connecting views.

Investment in custom high-craft elements allowed us to make every inch count.  A banquette by McLaughlin Upholstery fills the corner of the eating area and allows 6 people to fit around the table.  Custom cabinetry by Modern Heritage was dialed in to perfectly accommodate the client’s storage needs.  Aesthetically, we utilized the capabilities of the cabinet maker to mix styles and details.  The project became fondly referred to as a “saturated sally” by the project team for its vibrant cabinetry colors and patterns.

Through a creative and highly detail-oriented process, we helped our clients achieve their vision of a space that feels imaginative, unique, and personal..
